Actually getting about ready to start looking for Sasquatch.
I have found that if we get snow in Western Washington, it is a real good time to scout for easterns.
They also seem to get real vocal in February in my area, actually right up until season starts..
Miles and miles behind the gates to find a flock, or two...
Clear out a spot for a blind, have a plan for when the rains hit (it seems to like to rain in April)
Walking into your hunting area in the dark with no idea where to start is no way to hunt easterns.
Disturbing them right before season can mess things up too.
.
I plan for youth season, then IF we get one, we will drive over the hill for an "easy one"...

I went out for a hail mary at deer and filled my last two turkey tags last week. No deer though

Stiknstringbow,
Do you pay the outrageous "tresspass" fees, or try to find other gated roads?  The Eastern birds that I've seen on this side have been on private property with no one to ask for permission to hunt.  I've gone hunting with people whose names are on the list of the Washington Slam, heard toms, but couldn't get a shot.  I've had good luck getting Rio's and Mirriams, but not the Easterns.  They all taste good.
