Tagging along here. Which Rem UML model is the best in 50 cal? I bought the bighorn a couple of years ago and not thrilled with it. This is the first I have heard of the UML. Anyone know the closest dealer to Chehalis?

Not sure on dealer by Chehalis but you can't beat Carpsniperg2 price on one.
If price isn't an issue and you don't care about the muzzleloader being northwest legal, then the CVA Paramount and the Remington UML are the two top dogs when it comes to off the shelf (not custom) muzzleloaders that shoot a black powder substitute. The two muzzleloaders have similar performance, but go about things in a different way. The Remington UML can safely use a larger powder charge (200gr of BH209), but it uses a modified Barnes muzzleloader bullet with a sabot. That Barnes bullet is great, but it has a pretty typical BC for a muzzleloader bullet (.210 in this case). On the other hand, the CVA Paramount uses a large powder charge, but not quite as large as the Remington UML (150gr of BH209). However, the Paramount uses a much more aerodynamic PowerBelt ELR bullet. Both muzzleloaders are very, very accurate and are effective out to 300 yards or so (maybe a little further) in the right hands. It's really a matter of personal preference as to which one is "better". https://thebiggamehuntingblog.com/best-muzzleloaders/
