i just got back, couldn't make it past 2300 feet and theirs a tree across the road up to camp 7, i didnt have my chain saw  :bash: that wont happen again. i did find my first elk sheds  :whoo: a huge 6 point and then about 30 feet from that a 8 point, both left antlers. the six point was dropped within the last few days but the 8 point had been there a while. it was pretty cool

no, funny thing i was a good 10 miles from that area and quite a bit higher. i'll post pics and a story but i cant find my damn card reader  :bash:

I went back up to where I found the dead bobcat,the cat was kicked in the face,one cannine missing the right side of its face caved in

Still a tad early I think to find fresh peels.  One good indicator of when they are likely to start is when the Doug Fir start to candle (new growth).

Went up yesterday and found 3 peels from last spring but didn't see any old ones from previous springs or any new ones for this year.  Will probably go back and check out the area in a few weeks.
When the sap starts running in the trees, which will be soon,especially warm weather will get the trees going, the bears will start peeling.

I really like the ride the dakota gives me.And Killbillys rig I would be afraid to fart in :chuckle: :chuckle: Just kidding thats a great rig..I found a den this morning,knocked on the door{Ran a Big stick in there}no movement,kinda felt like noodling for bear,except a 44mag was in the other hand..I always get a little spooked around them..
