Ninja air fryer ?

Son got us a Ninja 4qt air fryer for Christmas. So far have done steak, frozen hash brown patties, tater tots, chicken breasts, all with good results. Looking for tips, recipes, accessories and ideas. Looked at a few on you-tube. Thinking about some game hens in the future and some steel-head. Any body with experience or favorites ? Hoping to be able to surprise the wife with something other than my awesome elk camp cuisine

do you find there is a "burning rubber smell" as several of the amazon reviews state? have you done any fried fish yet? Im in the market for an air fryer as my wife does not enjoy the lingering side effects standard fish/squid fry up on the stove.

Chicken wings. Air fryer chicken wings will change your life. Okay not that good but my air fryer get used for wings probably 2/3rds of the time I turn it on.

We got ours around Halloween time, and have been trying different things. Leftover pizza is way better in the air fryer.
The wife does hard boiled eggs and says they are easier to peel.
Battered fish is crisp, or other battered foods too.
The girls did those big pretzels the other day.
I really enjoy tots or fries from it.

As to the smell, run it through a couple hot cycles before you cook anything, then wash the interior parts well. Been good ever since.

Like Zuus mentioned, We washed everything well then ran it through 3 cook cycles and washed again. No smell at all. We did some rib meat and baby red potatoes last night. Turned out great. Thinking about doing some Jalapeno poppers soon. Love the idea of frying without all the grease or oil. Ours will roast and dehydrate as well. My sons unit came with a big recipe book and he says he cant remember the last time he turned on his oven. Might have to find me a recipe book.

I have a cusinart combo oven/air fryer that we got for christmas. The air fryer portion is pretty cool and works well on potatoes. I will say that the oven portion runs hotter than my old one so like others said, trial and error is good when getting used to it

Wow this was the big gift for the season. I got one too and (Cuisinart) and we put it over at the Cabin. I am looking forward to doing one in skin on Chicken thigs then putting a cacciatore sauce over it.

Got the same Cuisinart. Salmon and steelhead is fabulous. Fresh cut french fries the best. Did country style spare ribs that were great too. Dont use the oven much anymore.

how did you do the ribs? What temp and how long did you run your salmon? I have a bunch in my freezer I was going to smoke but would like to try this as well

We bought the Ninja Foodi 9 quart, 9 in 1 Air fryer, pressure cooker, etc...
tonight we just did French fries, they turned out pretty good. We did a smoked turkey breast air cooked for Christmas, that was awesome. We have not used it a whole lot, but so far we like it a lot. We are doing hot and spicy chicken thighs tomorrow night.

I am not much for cooking multiple things (meat and different veggies) together at the same time. I believe each dish/item should have its own foo or not a combination of everything.
My wife thinks I am nuts.

The smoked turkey breast.
Brined the skin on breast overnight in the fridge. 
Brine was a “3, 2, 1, brine”, 3 cups apple cider, 2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup salt, and seasoning as you wish.
Rubbed breast with Garlic Olive Oil.
Added BBQ rub.
Smoked for four hours with heat off. Smoker temp was about 150 degrees.
I smoked six breasts a couple weeks ago and froze them. So I had to thaw this breast out to Air Fry it.
Air fried about an hour at 360 degree, flipped at half way point, until 160 degrees internal temp.

We had incredible turkey sandwiches for a week, lol

Last night we just did some frozen breaded chicken breasts and tots. Put the chicken breasts whole on hamburger buns with lettuce and tomato and some miracle whip. Made for a good sandwich.
