A good deal on custom actions
« on: January 05, 2020, 06:48:35 PM »
American Rifle Company has a deal going on their Gen 1.1 Nucleus actions right now for $795. On top of that, they're in stock and ship out right away! I ordered one on Sunday last week and I picked it up from my FFL on Thursday, and that included waiting a day for New Years. It's hard to tell what they've got in stock but once the inventory is gone you have to wait for the complete Gen 2 Nucleus to come out.

I already had an early (serial number 0036) Gen 1 Nucleus and I love it and I think the Gen 1.1 is actually nicer still. They changed the bolt rotation to 80° instead of 72° and tweaked the lead angle on the lugs a little bit so that the blot lift is a little smoother. The down side is that they put a 25# firing pin spring in there instead of the 19#, but replacement springs are only $10 so just I ordered one with the action.

I threw a 27 Boondoogle (version 4 or 5 or something at this point  :bash:) barrel on the action with the hopes of using it as an all-round hunting set up. it weighs 8# 10oz as pictured.

Pretty looking... But does it pass the minute of broadside barn test?
The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.
