late archery in the Sinlahekin?
« on: October 29, 2007, 04:14:08 PM »
I am new to archery hunting and was thinking of trying out the late archery hunt up in this area. I know the deer winter in this valley, and naturally the amount of deer will depend on wheather. If anyone has any advice on some places to start I would appreciate it.

If you hunt low there is a lot of private land over there. Get a good map find the deer, then either ask permission from the land owner or come in from public land. What ever you do, do not go onto property you are unsure of. One of my close friends ended up with a trespassing ticket up there about four years ago.(He crossed the back end corner of private property, half a mile from the valley) Good luck it is beautifully country up there.

Plenty of public access in the Sinlahekan valley.  Anywhere from the old Honor Camp to Fish Lake.  Brushy, swampy bottoms to timber to open hillsides.  Although I haven't seen the numbers the last few years that used to be in the valley.  Late November, you should have a good chance away from the road.  Head high up Toats coulee- Long Swamp, lots of options there.
