How Far?
« on: January 18, 2020, 07:20:46 PM »
I realize that there is a wide diversity of hunters here Some  hikers and some that don't get far from their rigs but I wonder if I went far enough for the average hunter to not venture that far back.
Went out today with the Buggy and left the snow plow on, plowed about 2 to 2.5 miles off the main road to an area with quite a few Bobbie tracks. Reason I didn't go farther was simple had snow coming over the top and both sides of the plow and didn't want to have to dig myself and buggy out that far back?
How many here would hike that far?

Not in deep snow, but that’s an easy hike in the fall.

Wouldn't do that distance in deep snow, mainly because I'm old fat and broken, but since you've plowed the way, I'll be right there.😎

With good snowshoes and 2 cat traps on my back no problem if it’s not steep climbing

Well this area was mostly all uphill going in pushing the snow out of the way. I. Know last year I tried it with the snowshoes and by the time I got back there figured the critters would feast on my 70 year old carcus because of the snow, the incline, and age
