95% of protein bars have more sugar than a can of mtn dew.  The 3 i posted links to are the exceptions that ive found

Assuming you mean hiking/hunting when you say pack, a bar like Cliff is going to be a better overall bar than a 1 dimensional “protein” bar.   :twocents:

We do costco as well, hard to beat for the price. Plus fil is diabetic and they are great for him

When it comes to taste the blueberry cobbler cliff is hard to beat, agreed higher in sugar than ideal but on par with snickers for taste  :drool:

On par with snickers for taste because its full of sugar, basically a candy bar itself.  Damn near half the country is either dependent on insulin, or soon will be.  Because everybody eats garbage loaded with high fructose corn syrup and/ or sugar.  Its insanely prevalent in peoples diets.  All the breads, condiments- ketchup, barbeque sauce, teriyaki etc etc.  Start looking at ingredient labels and nutritional labels.  Sugar, sugar, sugar .  Get off that *censored* if you dont want to have diabetes and end up rolling around tte grocery store in a scooty puff, grabbing your soda off the shelf while wearing a compression sock on the one foot that hasnt yet been amputated.

No, the excessive sugar doesnt make it better, period.  All that does for you is give you a very temporary energy boost followed by a crash.  There is no nutritional advantage.

This OP is clearly interested in PROTEIN not sugar

And they actually taste great, not like most Protein bars.

Even an apple kills my blood sugar levels for 10 hours. I read every label for sugar content my CDE (Certified Diabetic Instructor) says no more that 10%, I try for 5% or less. I've been able to keep my A1C score under 5.5 , 6+ you are going to be on insulin.

Thats great, a resses pb cup tastes like lot better than a mouthful of oats too.  But since the op was asking specifically about protein, im assuming thats his main concern.  Not what is a tasty sugary snack.
