Damn, so many sheds, so little time. Maybe next year I will be able to follow in all of your footsteps.

Awesome finds!

Those look like pure blacktail sheds.

Yeah they do look like pure blacktail but they come from around Glenwood. And as Far as I no there Considerd to be the "Casecade Blacktail" or benchlegs in that area?? :dunno: :dunno:

Yeah those deer are still a mule deer/blacktail cross from what I've seen. While most have way more blacktail characteristics, I saw a doe last week in the White Salmon drainage that had so little black on her tail you would have thought she belonged in the desert. I agree though, those horns do look very blacktail.

When I think of a blacktail shed I visualize Dark antlers and big eyeguards. What about you guys what characteristics do you see in blacktail antlers?

Okay, gotcha.  That area is tough, because the benchlegs we have in the Yakima area tend to look a little bit different than those.  The deer in the area where you found those I think tend to show more blacktail characteristics than muley characteristics, whereas, the Yakima area deer show more muley characteristics in my opinion.
