I would say Merwin has bigger fish less people too.

Elkburger: thanks man and glad the 4wheeler is working out good for y’all. Handy to have for sure!

I found a cheat sheet for trolling in Merwin last night so gives me a place to start for sure. Going to look around today to see if someone has made one for Yale as well. Always good to know where the prop killers are and some good areas to work.

all this info is spot on..  Key to koks, find the fish and try to stay on the schools.  If they are not biting change up.  Any given day and any given color works.  Stay away from pop gear and use the small dodger.  Better sweeping action.  Use the most sensitive rod you have, the more noodle the better.

If you get on a school don't be afraid the kill the trolling motor for about 30 seconds and let that lure/bait flutter down.  They are chasers and will follow your gear for awhile but pretty sluggish this time of year.  Be ready for strikes when making your turns and slow downs.  And slow, slow, slow is key as mentioned.

Merwin has less fish, bigger fish, and 10 fish limit. Yale has more fish, smaller fish, and 15 fish limit. Short leader 8” and .8-1.5 mph is key. There’s lots of good YouTube videos that show a lot of different lures to use. They all work. If the bites good and the water is in decent shape you should do well. There’s also hundreds of special ingredients to add to your corn but like most fish attractants there mostly just people trying to sell stuff. You will notice in the how to videos they mostly all add one thing to there corn first. These fish seem to like the same ingredients you would add to any salmon bait. They are just little salmon after all.

The clown multi color is good....i try and stay away from chrome and flash.....purples are good on my lake. I also like little hoochies as you can kinda fill em with scent. Lots of folks swear by the always be turning...long line out the back allows the gear to travel through water you haven't driven. Let's see.....get to a place that is your happy place....little buggers come unpinned super easy. Once you get a few i like to take the head off, gut em, season and grill whole. Nom nom nom.

As H20 said, multi-color flashers work great.
I went out to look at my sets. I keep four poles rigged for kokes, and take all of them so I can switch up without wasting to much time.
Three of the four currently have (different) multi-colored flashers with pink/purple the predominant color on them.
Two of those three have Double Whammy's and the third has a pink and silver Hoochie.
The fourth has a Willow Blade string and a Wedding Ring on it.

I pre-tie all my sets with swivel hasps, and wrap them around about 8 inches of foam Pool Noodle.
(Buy them at the bargain store for a $1.00 for 4 feet, just like a Lindy Rigger if you would rather purchase them).
To switch out, just open the swivel under the sinker and put the new one on.
Ready to fish in seconds.

Awesome stuff guys appreciate it and some great info!
Probably be a bit before I get there.

Love me some pool noodles! I burn through about 5/6 a year! Just started tying shad darts the other day and they work great to!!!

I have been tying some stuff up with snap locks when the bite is on or switching stuff up it sure saves a guy some time.

Going to grab some snubbers thank you for the tip alchase. Do you do main like to snubber and snubber to dodger or put in some line between the 2?

Depends on the set.
If I am running a Hoochie (or Kokanee Killer), I shorten the leader to 18" and put the snubber after the sinker, in front of the flasher, so it won't hinder the action the flasher gives the Hoochie.

If running a Wedding Ring or Double Whammy, I use a longer leader (24" - 36") they have their own spinner, do not need the flasher to add action. I put the snubber after the flasher and tie the leader to it.

Kokanee only eat zooplankton. They are not trying to eat your lure/bait. They are attacking it because it pissed them off, LOL.
Really any shiny object can do that.

I dont have any pics on hand but we just put the snubbed directly downline from flasher. You'll be amazed at the difference
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
