 Moyle mink and tannery.
I have one a buddy did years ago that i shot in montana. Not very flexible.more like a piece of cardboard. We put it on the bed in the winter. Thing is super warm.
I have all my trapping furs done by moyles and its awesome. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Try Cedar River Taxidermy. He has done two elk for me. They turned out great. He is in Cumberland just out of Enumclaw.

When you do the euro you need to pop the horns off to get the flesh between the skull and horns. Just like you would with an antelope.

Most likely you can just twist them off. If you cant you can put them in a plastic bag somewhere warm and give them a few days and try again.

I think most taxidermists farm the tanning work out to someone else.

Ended up being an eye opener for me. Charged me $350 if I remember right and I think I gave him a tip besides. Hide shows up in the mail and it's from Moyle and they sent a price sheet. Turns out they charge half what I paid the guy. Next time if I can I'll send it to Moyle myself. Lesson learned.

I put the elk hide in a frame so it wouldn't shrink then fleshed most of the meat off then salted real good and re salted the wet spots. Let it dry until it folds like cardboard but not too stiff though. I think it took a couple weeks for it to dry enough. Then fold it and box it up and send it to them.

Everything i send to them is dried. I would call them and tell them what you want to send them and ask them how they want it.
They may be able to answer questions or give you advice. Think about what day to ship also so it isn't sitting at the post office over the weekend.

I run into this alot from the other end. I'm a contractor and I just had a builder decide he wanted to buy his own parts to save on my 15% markup. I called my supplier afterward and my 35% retail discount didn't apply to him so he ended up paying more than if he had gone the normal route. Just something to consider.
