Theyre not planning on reducing the number of non resident general deer tags are they?

I really don't see what the big deal is...my Idaho hunts always end in disappointment as I'm heading home after only a few hours in the field  :dunno:

They may. The way the bill is written it leaves a lot of options open to them. There is talk of making deer a zone tag similar to how the elk tags are handled currently. This would allow them to limit sales of deer tags to no more than 10% of what the reported hunter participation number in that zone is or something along those lines. Could dramatically cut back on tags in some areas.

I think it may end up close to Wyoming’s strategy for limiting nonresidents. So zone tags for nonresidents with 10% historic average of residents participation in units as baseline. Resident tags would stay general state wide. Nothing is set in stone yet though.
