Nickel refinish?

Anyone ever refinished a nickel plated revolver?  I have a S&W 29-2 that has lost a bit of the nichel plating.  I called S&W and they won't do it.  It may not be worth doing if it cost much; the only reason I'd do it is to get top dollar if I sell it.
