Cull all of them, stack themup like cord wood, count them and then toss the csrcases in the local dump uncovered so the crows can have a feast.

I read an article recently that they ran over 500 game Cam's last year specific to counting wolves. Based off those pics they estimate the population to be over 1500. They've recently increased hunting tags to 15 per person. I think it's smart of them to want to fund a better way to track and manage wolves so they can justify killing more of them. If they don't the cattle damage claims and loss of hunter revenue in the next few years will surpass that 400k.

I think it's a very smart move myself.WDFW should be taking notes ,cause you can't manage wildlife (predators) without hard numbers of what you got.Or WDFW loves not knowing so they can stay on the conservative side and not have to manage.Back on topic I believe it's money well spent.

I fully support spending the money to track wolf numbers. IDFG must back up the need for liberal hunting and trapping seasons with the hard evidence to prove the claimed wolf numbers, otherwise the wolf activist groups might prevail in a lawsuit to stop or sharply curtail wolf hunting or trapping.

$408k is a lot cheaper than a bullschmidt lawsuit from hsus/dow/peta etc etc

Its also a lot cheaper than the long term costs of depredation payments and loss of hunter revenue from unchecked wolf populations.
