I hunted G last year and I made it my whole years goal to get into excellent mountain shape. I was in the best shape of my life and that country still threw some haymakers at me. I backpacked in, but would not want to day hike in after seeing what the country was like. Its doable for a few days but after that, I'd be throwing in the towel.
Big mountains for sure. How did Your hunt go?

Killed a buck that barely hit 161 on day 2 of the hunt, day 6 of being in the high country. Not as big as I was hoping for but the experience was unforgettable. I can't wait to go back, and next time I'll be a bit more patient.
