I shoot the 143eldx over 41.5g h4350, found a good node there that prints an honest .75moa out of my howa in all conditions.

Its shot 6 antelope with that load. Of the 6, the bullet didnt impress me on 3, the other 3 were perfect performance. Shots were between 30 and 200 yards.
Seemed like starting them at 2750 was pushing em to fast. I'm going to switch to a different bullet when  my current stash runs out.

The 143s shot well in my 6.5-06AI. Accurate and pretty consistent.

Shot a bear last spring and a buck (twice) last fall. Performance was not impressive, particularly on the buck. I’ve also shot 20-30 coyotes with it and have been surprised how many runners there were. Not a giant body of evidence but enough for me when there are viable alternatives. Gave up and switched to the 140 vlds.

I still have an unopened box of 143s and I’m sure I’ll shoot them up eventually because they shoot so nice from my rig but I don’t trust them on big game anymore.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I was there for Jon's deer and it was one of the full on failures I mentioned. The second shot was a spectacular kill, but it came 3hrs later after we gave up looking for him and chalked it up to a miss.

In my opinion and experience, the 140gr Berger Hunting VLD is the most spectacular. 264 bullet in existence. I've seen that bullet do impressive things from bull elk a really long ways away to bull elk really close and about every type of critter in between.  :twocents:

I was considering these, or the tsx's. how do you think these would perform on black bear? no exit has me worried, but if they work as good as people say, there probably wont be much blood trailing anyways?  :dunno:

You can shoot a bear with a perfect bullet with an entrance and exit and they usually wont bleed on the ground much anyway. Black bears do NOT have much to say with a bullet on the high shoulder or tight to it. Deer go farther than black bears in my experience.

Any of you tried the hammer hunters?
I am blown away by their performance on game as well as numbers and would highly recommend them.  I have only tried them in man calibers though so not sure of the performance in the women's line, but I am sure they are great!

Worst part of owning a creedmoor is perfecting the man bun before hunting season starts.

Yours is getting long enough to start that bun trend.
Sorry I could chat earlier, had two new hires with me and had a long your of the site ahead of me.  I'll be out on the next video to chat.

Here's my 6.5CM formula:

140 Berger VLD
43.0 grains H4350
Lapua Brass, small rifle primers
seated soft touch
AVG V=2850 fps
ES = sub 10

This combo has performed exceptionally well on deer/antelope sized game from 20 yards to 600 yards.  One shot kills, minimal meat damage.  Nothing has walked away.

Are poeple not finding their animals with the ELD-X or is an accuracy problem (meaning not grouping well / inconsistent)?

I just started working on my brother’s Ruger American Predator 6.5CM and found good groups with 43.1gr and 43.3gr of H4350 with 143 ELD-X. He shot a mule deer in Wa and a whitetail in ID last season with factory Hornady 143gr ELD-X precision hunter and had no tracking job.
