Ar-15 coyote rifle
« on: February 06, 2020, 11:22:03 AM »
Just got done building one that’s a 223 wylde and have a few 30rd mags but am considering a couple 10rd mags for coyote hunting. Was curious on what you guys with ar’s what size mags do you run??? Just seems like a 30rd is a little bulky... thanks to all!

10 round magpul for me. The 20 and 30s are terrible to pack around imo. I dont like the low hanging mags getting in the way constantly.

I've got a 10 that sticks out just a little bit from the mag well.

I like the 10 rounds. They get snagged far less often. I'd even try a 5 round if I could find one.

I have a 5 as well but it's the same length as my 10 so I just pack the ten and then I don't have to carry extra ammo. Just slap a full 10 rounder in and go.

Do use a 30 round sometimes if I'm reloading long bullets metal gi mags give ya little longer to load.but other wise I always use a ten round.

223/556 20 round most the time. Anything bigger 6x45/6.5/7mm-08/308 etc is 10 round or even 5 round. Very few times ever have shots past number 3 or 4 worked out on moving yotes :chuckle:

10 round mag figure if half of those are kills it would be more than I'd care to drag back to the rig and could refill mag if needed.
