I know people say resize them, or take a photo of a photo, but it never used to be so hard to post pics on this site.  WTH happened????  Can't we fix this?  I see more and more people complaining that they can't post pics, no, this isn't a game changer, but it's such a pain in the arse.  signed,  Frustrated....

Cameras and phones are steadily increasing the megabyte size of the photos they produce. About 10 years ago it was unusual for a photo to be more than 1 meg in size, now cameras and phones routinely take 4 meg and larger photos. That is the problem and I have not been able to find a solution yet.

I’ve been on here since 2012 and it’s been the same all along as far as I can remember. Can’t recall a change in recent years? All I do is screenshot a photo and attach it, very easy. Lots of forums are this way.

I e-mail photos from my phone and it asks what size I want them.  I choose medium, save to computer and post with no resizing and it works every time.

Jerry,
How are you viewing the forum on your phone?  Is it via a web browser?  Maybe try Tapatalk?  It is pretty nice and Tapatalk has it's own web hosting and will handle resizing and uploading the images for you.

I don't want to sound rude at all...almost never do, but it's not the forum that makes it difficult and posting photos doesn't suck now any more than it ever has. Some people know how and some don't know how to do it. It's incredibly easy if you use the Tapatalk app. Tapatalk will resize for you. There's nothing high tech about posting photos. @trophyhunt  I would highly recommend you try the Tapatalk app.

There have been numerous instructional threads over the years, but they all pretty much say the same thing. Here's one that Ray posted on how to resize:
https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,28740.0.html

If the photos are the correct dimensions, they'll post. If they're not the correct dimensions, they won't. That's not the forum causing that.

I've literally never had to screen shot a picture or email myself a picture or even re-size a picture to get it to post here.

Trophyhunt-
I'm 90% sure you have an iphone. Check this out on your phone. Go into settings.

Find your camera settings by typing “camera” in the search bar or scroll down to the camera.

Go to “Formats”

Read the info on the bottom. If you’re not in the correct mode, you’re reducing the odds of taking pictures that are the correct size to post. You want to be in that high efficiency mode.

Also since I’m here, using Tapatalk, this is how it works.

I always use the Medium size format.

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

This photo is the original unaltered 3.3mb and 3264x2448 resolution. They seem to post fine for me using the attachment “choose file” button below the text box.  :dunno:

I pretty much laid out a paint by numbers.

The easiest way bar none to post photos from your phone is to use the Tapatalk app.

I also think it's a ton easier to navigate the forum with the app too. Using the browser on my phone is a giant PITA if you ask me.

iPhone user. I access site via internet not thru an app.

Click “choose file” under attachments. You’ll then get a pop up to select a photo on your phone or take a photo.

Click on the photo you want. At the bottom it says select size

Click select size. Set it to small and then click back in upper corner.

Click done upper right corner

Didn’t know selecting the size was an option, Casey. Posting this your way.  I selected medium size.

Now I’m geeking out.

Are they 2 different quality photos? 1st is via Tapatalk. 2nd is Casey’s way.
