Spotted skunk prices
« on: February 08, 2020, 10:35:49 AM »
Never thought I would do this but I am going to get a Fur Dealers License and start buying Spotted Skunks.
Reason: I can't keep up with sales. There is a good market for them out there and you might as well benefit from it.
I want them in the round in other words unskinned and they have to be  undamaged. If you shoot them it ruins the value.
Bag them and freeze and I will pay $25 for every one I can get.
Bring them to the Winter Rendezvous.

Good for you Humptulips. Dont need a license for Civits, as they are not furbearers.
Think about diversifying into Striped Skunk too. Then you would be the undisputed Skunk King!

How does one go about getting a live skunk into a bag?  Sounds like a hazardous endeavour.

I read the law and there is no mention of the word furbearers. You have to have the license to deal in raw furs for profit so I think I need the license.

Yes it is probably a good idea to kill the skunk before you bag it. I thought that was  apparent but  :dunno:

So if youre not supposed to shoot them, how do you get them in the bag?  How do you kill them without getting sprayed?  Sorry if its an ignorant question, im not a trapper.  Yet.  Just curious how one goes about getting a skunk into a bag without shooting it first.

The koro trap works perfectly! Or gas them or even dunk them

Great offer Bruce!  Do you think you will be making the same offer next year as well?  (Subject to price change of course).
I am skunked out this year, but next year I can get you 50+, especially if I don't have to skin them.

Thanks

The way it looks now I will be needing to buy them next year. I can't see the price going down.

So how do you trap them?  And what type of area do they live?
