Watch out now. The wolf huggers are going to want vehicles banned anywhere wolves could possibly cross a road!

I wouldn't have posted that. He just invited a lot of grief into his life. Won't be surprised if WDFW charges him with intentionally trying to hit it after reading the post.

I would have just kept driving..
If I need a permit and education to buy a firearm than women should need a permit and education  before getting an abortion.

I agree, the skid mark could be used to argue he swerved to hit it but that cuts both ways because he could say he swerved to attempt to miss it.

I was taught by a drivers ed teacher who was also a WWII bomber pilot, "never swerve to miss an animal, you are more likely to be hurt or killed in the process, HIT the animal whatever it is!"

My scoutmaster swerved to miss a porcupine, rolled his car and wound up in the hospital for ten days.  Almost killed him,  once he recovered he told my dad, "yep, should have HIT it and kept on going, I'll never try and avoid HITTING another animal again!"
The only good tree, is a stump!

You are 100 percent correct timberfaller.  I am in a different role now a days but used to be a total loss car adjuster.  I talked to a lot of people that rolled or plowed into a barrier because they did not want to hit the dog, deer, whatever.

When something furry darts out in front of you there's not enough time to think "oh it's a wolf!  run it over!"  same applies for yotes.

The first instinct that's been ingrained in your heads from many years of trying to miss deer is hit the brake and hold her straight, and try not to flat spot 1000's of dollars worth of tires...if you're a semi truck driver.    The truck I drove had 26 tires on the ground, that's a lot of $$ to flatspot.

Following a semi through windy roads of NY mountains in a uhaul, a deer jumps out ahead of semi on the right side of the road, and I see it clear the other side to the left.  The guy didn't even flinch or tap his brakes.  I wouldn't either.
