Del Fox will tell you they group grind.  You get your weight of grind plus the added weight of required fat.  Might be yours, might be the guy who dragged his 2 miles in 70 degrees with the hide on, no thanks.  It’s not a rumor, they told me that.   That’s when I said no thanks any longer.  I would guess that was 4-6 years ago or so.... Now I process and grind my own deer and elk.

Your own pig or beef might be a different story.  But, wild game in the heat of the season that is what you will get.

Id bet thats all butchers.  I like knowing where my meat has been every step of the way.  Not interested in eating mystery meat.  Also not interested in having my game meat mixed in with a percentage of domestic (aka mystery) meat.  If i ever have such a b as d hunting year that i need to buy meat, ill get it from the guy up the road that raises cattle.  Been a lot of years since ive purchased any meat other than fish, but ill be damned if i ever buy meat from some unknown origin.

Ill keep that in mind incase im ever in situation where i have to head out to sea and dont have time to process my own animal, thanks.

If i had to pay to have my game butchered, cost would be an afterthought, quality would be the main issue.  Lets be real, none of us hunt to save money.

I take all my stuff to TNT. Great results every time. I also tend to take my stuff there during the off season. So I'm pretty positive that my meat is my meat.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

I took 25 pounds of trimmed and cleaned beaver meat to tnt last year and he made me sausage that was fantastic and he was excited to do it because it was something different. Everyone that tried it thought it was deer. I don't think you will be disappointed taking it there.

Before I started processing all of my own animals, I took a couple of animals to both Silvana and Del Fox. Silvana produces a better product in my opinion. But I have had two incidents there where I was treated so rudely, I swore I would never go back. The couple that bought Del Fox are super nice, as is their staff. But, the last batch of duck pepperoni I had them do had the consistency of bubble gum and a couple of the vac paks were not sealed when I picked up the batch.
I never took stuff to TNT, but friends have and their pepperoni is very good and land Jaeger is killer! Not many wild game butcher do lanjaeger in my experience.
I saw someone mention Andal's. They are close to my house, but my understanding WAS that they don't process game meat. However, a couple years ago I was in a pinch for some pepperoni casings. I called to ask if I could buy some and the butcher said come on down. He didn't charge me for the casings. And, he indicated that they would do some specialty meats, and let me sample some of their pepperoni. Would love to hear if anybody has use them. Anybody?

Sea Bolts in Oak Harbor makes some killer stuff, but you have to have a minimum amount of clean trimmed meat.  Did I mention how good it is?

TNT is awsome and you will get your own meat. The only other guy i know that does that is Linds Meats in Kent. He will wheel that animal out right in front of you so you know its yours. Or atleast thats what Mike did 20 years ago
