Snohomish County group camp site?
« on: February 19, 2020, 11:34:07 AM »
Anyone know of a nice place for a group of kids and parents to go camping for a night? Probably would want to arrive mid day and stay till mid day the next day.
Needs to be an established campsite or group camp, needs to have bathrooms of some kind, etc. Kind of like a boy scouts group camp type setup. Would need to accomodate 25 or so kids and parents. All people attending would be covered by insurance, etc. Don't really need a bunch of activities to do, but that wouldn't hurt either. Really just looking for a place a bunch of kids age 8-18 can get together and have fun, get to know each other and relax. Also looking for something not terribly expensive although we can spend some money. Maybe a max of $100-150 for the night.
Thanks in advance!

Camano island state park, they have a group site for up to 100 people and you can also reserve the lowell point kitchen shelter which is great with that many people..

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Mostly, but it's not really a requirement. I'm open to ideas.

That sounds like a perfect location, and this may or may not sound crazy, but our group isn't going to want to get close to that area due to the RHD virus in the rabbits up there. These would mostly be rabbit project kids. The virus story is a long story. Long story short, it's a highly contagious virus and is killing domestic feral rabbits left and right in the San Juans and Whidbey Island. Quarantine in effect, etc. All the feral rabbits at Fort Casey are gone from what I've heard for example.

Hey...they say family friendly ... :dunno:

Place creeps me out. I've driven by the gate many times in the basin.  Hadn't thought about until i saw your post.

On a serious note does Lake Cassidy have a group location? I lnow Kayak Point has a lot of space as well as some renovations done to the Lake Goodwin area.

Not sure if the standard NF outhouse would work for bathrooms but there are a couple group campsites up the Mt. Loop Hwy about 30 minutes outside of Granite Falls. Some big sites on the river. Plenty of room for RV's and tents. I don't remember all the names but one of them is called Wiley Creek group campground.

You could call Darrington Ranger Station for availability and cost.           1-360-436-1155
