Federal fusion feedback

I handload 95% of my centerfire ammo. So I don't get to play around with much factory ammo.
I built a 338 federal in a AR10 and picked up a box of federal fusion. The gun loves the stuff so I bought a few more boxes.

Looking for some real world feedback on performance on game animals with this bullet.
I'm thinking about using it on a Midwest whitetail this fall so any feedback would be great.

I’m going to follow along on this. I just bought a 7mm08 barrel for my encore and I’m thinking about shooting fusion as well. Carp the reviews on midway are a reasonably good source for reviews.

I have had great success with Fusion ammo in many different calibers on 300 pound mule deer, antelope, blacktail etc.  They have always been very accurate in my rifles and bullet performance outstanding. I think they are the new "Deadliest Mushroom in the Woods". In a Rem 700 '06 I can not handload more accurate ammo than these Fusions, 3 shots @ 100 all touching each other

Fantastic ammo. Pulled off one of my best shots ever. 460 s&w magnum, open sights, 250 yards, marysville range, rung steel on my 2nd shot. Only shot those two rounds so I'm essentially an expert.

I suspect there isn’t a whitetail on the planet which would have a bad word to say about a Fusion bullet out of a 338.

My sako in 7mm08 didn't shoot the stuff well.

I have witnessed two deer shot with fusion. First one the bullet went in and grenaded in the cavity of the animal and the shrapnel went into all the meat. Lost more than half the meat. Second deer shot the bullet went in with one hole and came out with two holes about a foot apart. And that was without hitting a rib on the way in.

My personal opinion I will never use it for hunting.

Thanks guys keep it coming. My gun is shooting the stuff great which is why I bought more. probably 1/2"-3/4" on avg. So didn't bother buying dies and chasing any better groups then that. I am plenty happy with that. Just wanting to make sure the bullets hold up good. I have read a few reviews online and they looked good but a few negative reviews but trust the guys on here much more.

Ya they are good bullets.I will let you in on a secret ,cause I like ya.And I like ar10 even more.
You can reload fusions and copycat there load.

I've shot 100s of rounds in 30-06. It's a very solid factory ammo. Bullet holds together well, and spreads enough to kill. Will definitely take the wind out of whitetail in .338.

Sweet thanks guys. I will probably load it at some point just this year is busy and got a new little one taking up lots of time. So the easy button is getting pushed in this one this year. I also built a 450 bushmaster that is eating factory ammo atm as well.

It's good ammo. I used it to kill two 200+ pound wild boars and they both dipped like bags of hammers. No meat loss except right at the entry point.  I use it for all of my gun hunting.

2 antelope taken with 6mm fusions. 2 with 7mm fusions. All performed better on game imo then my 6.5 eldx did. 243 win, 7mm-08 and 6.5 creedmoore.

I keep a couple boxes around in a few calibers, seems to shoot good from all my guns, and performance is decent enough. Makes for a good low budget hunting setup. Budget being monetary or time!

My first 4 shot group at 200 yards when i was sighting in my savage 16lwh .243, shooting 95gr federal fusion box ammo and a 2-7×33 scope.  1/4" @ 200.  A bad group for this gun with that ammo is still sub moa.  Ive only shot lions snd coyotes (and a skunk) with it, not deer, but its done the job so far.
