Cowlitz question
«
on:
March 04, 2020, 09:12:41 PM »
Quick question for the guys that know the Cowlitz. Whats the limit out there by blue creek? Reading the regs my interpretation is 3 hatchery min 20".... but all the pictures I have been seeing lately everyone is hoisting 2 per person. Is there some emergency rule change that I cant find?

Go catch 2 and ask while you're there.

I assume you're talking steelhead since salmon is CLOSED on the Cowlitz. Pretty sure the steelhead limit is still 2.

He's not wrong. That is what it says in the regs. I couldn't find an emergency rule change anywhere regarding this.

Got a report for you guys....... Fished it yesterday. Tons of boats. Seen 5 nets fly all day. Fish checker said they were significantly down from last week. Average for yesterday was about one fish every other boat. We had one on for a few head shakes then that was it. Other than that it was a beautiful day on the water.

Also remember Cowlitz river live.net. It’s a live feed camera below the old blue creek you can watch......give you an idea of how busy and what’s going on sometimes...
