In not trying to get the pitch fork thrown at me but I've been after them for years to make whitetail/blacktail the same.
But I'm sure it's just a misprint.
Why would you want to make them the same? I’m curious to your reasoning.
Same here.

You can now submit your special permit hunt apps so we should see regs only pretty soon I'd think

It's just not fair that you can hunt late buck on east side then go home and continue to hunt on the Westside while our season is shutdown.
It's also a way to make you choose which side of the state your gonna hunt without really choosing.

Nothing stopping you from coming to the wet side.😉

This doesn't make a lot of sense.
What stops you from coming over here to hunt "our" season?
Almost sounds like you've been lobbying WDFW to decrease hunter opportunity because you don't feel like it's fair to you.  If I'm wrong, please clarify.

That's correct.
Basically it evens the playing field for hunters and wildlife.
I proposed it as to lengthen the east side season or shorten Westside or the middle of the road between the two.
I'm not trying to take your opportunity. To fair things up a bit.
I wouldn't get to worked up ,we haven't seen the regs yet.

Having the same season for all three kinds of deer WOULD be a good strategy from a conservation standpoint. It would mean less hunting pressure on deer all the way around. A benefit as far as less deer harvested, and leaving more deer for next year. Not to mention bigger bucks. But of course less hunting opportunity. There's tradeoffs in everything. Personally I do think it would be a good idea. Better would be going away from general seasons and to more permit only hunting, especially for mule deer. But the state won't do that because they'd lose too much revenue.

Dude the playing field is already even... you have the same opportunity to hunt the same seasons as anyone else in wa does. Feel free to go west and hunt the longer early season for blacktail... your tag is just as good for blacktail as theirs is for whitetail

ill also say that im not opposed to making a guy select a species for deer, but that has nothing to do with being fair.

It is, we all have the same regulations.

It’s choice, you choose not to come to the wetside.

I did the dryside late hunt a couple times, got a deer, it’s just not worth it.

Probably why you don’t come to the wetside, it’s not worth it.

But some people love to hunt both side late hunts, it’s their right as long as the regs allow it. :twocents:

I will tell ya honestly I have no desire to hunt blacktail, pay access fees, from what I hear are on a steady decline just like most deer population in this state.

Now you tell me why my season shouldn't be as long as yours?
