questions about an old JC Higgins model 20 shotgun
« on: March 20, 2020, 07:52:02 PM »
A nonshooting friend just inherited a 12 guage.

Looks old.

I doubt its worth much besides sentimental value, but siad I'd try to check.,

How can I find out what year it is and if it's worth more than $50?

It was made by High Standard, value about $200 give or take. If it has a serial number it was made after 1968, if not before. The later ones had choke tubes.

Nice old shotgun.  Some had a power pac compensator, and certain ones had a switch on the left hand side that allow you to turn them off so more shells wouldn't feed from the magazine.  We always called them the cash register shotgun, because the sound they made when you cycle them.
