Short version, I’d look at Bolton bikes before Rambo. My bike has been in the shop getting it’s rear hub replaced and brakes fixed, 34 miles on it. Battery also had to be replaced, not too impressed with the quality.

Just checked out Boltons webpage. The new Blackbird pre order video has some great info. Looks like a lot of features for $2200

Check out Bolton’s YouTube videos, the guy is damn smart about his bikes. They put them together and ride them before they ship them out to make sure all is good. They charge you 100$ for shipping but trust me, it’s worth it. My Rambo box had a huge hole ripped in it, plastic bag of parts was open and stuff scattered every where

The bakcou is a good bike.  Ive had the full suspension 1000w with the 21amp battery.  great bike with metal gearing in mid drive.  Youll gain almost twice the torque with a mid drive motor over a rear hub.  If you need it to climb hills id get the biggest battery with a mid drive 1000w.  You can turn the motor back to 750w if needed.

Yep I ended up with the Boackou mule and it’s a beast we’ve hauled a lot of gear and animals this year and a ton of steep uphill climbs it’s a great investment

He isn't getting a 1000w mid drive bike for $2000. So we should try and keep to that range to help him find the best bike for $2000.  :twocents:

All those bikes are great bikes but they start at $3k and up.

My Rambo is well
Over 1000miles and all I have had to replace was a pedal arm and it was my fault

you must have a good one, I bought mine last may. It’s a mid drive motor, the repair shop thinks it wasn’t tuned up when I received it and the torque broke the rear hub. Nothing I did, had it in 1st gear going up hill.

Rad Rover is a good price point if you aren't doing anything extreme.    Its a heavy bike at around 70 pounds, but cheaper than most alternatives.    I have 400 miles on mine and so far so good.

I bought my Radrover last February and I have put just about 1000 miles on it cruising mainly logging roads with minimal problems. I had to replace the front brake pads, the rear tire is getting pretty bald and I broke the kick stand. I bought it with 240 miles and it is sitting at exactly 1200 miles now.

Buy the “Biggest most trusted” name you know
Maybe they’ll be in business next year... lol
Service and parts are the key, these things need more maintenance than my 2 boats put together
One shot. One kill!
