Like many of you, I'm bored and looking for a mini project and since I've been wanting to upgrade/replace the trigger in my Gen4 G17 I figured no better time than the present, BUT, I'm far from a Glock expert and there are a variety of different trigger kits available so who's have you all used and or which one/s do you think are better than another???

Based on the little research I've done, at this point, I'm probably leaning toward the kit from Apex, but if there is a better one, I'm open to anything.

Brother has the Apex in his 19x and I have the Zev Pro in my 19 ( Both Flat Faces ) . Both break right @ 4lbs on my trigger scale , shooting them side by side they are the same . Before I put the Zev in mine I polished all the stock parts and put in a Ghost Connector.  Made a big difference over stock ( cheaper too ) . Never did put the scale to it though as I knew I was going with the Zev Flat faced . I put the Ghost Connector in my brother's 17 with no other mods and it dropped the pull enough to notice .

I'm not so concerned about making the pull rate a whole lot lighter, but I'd love to shorten that longggggg pull.

These aftermarket triggers like the Apex and Zev eliminate quite a bit of that long pull, yes??

Yes they eliminate virtually all of that .  My Zev is alot crisper and shorter , it also resets faster then the stock one .

I just installed an Overwatch trigger in my not a Glock 17. Took to the range on Saturday and I like it a lot. It has a nice short crisp trigger pull now. I also added a Lantec 3.5lb connector and a Lantec polished safety plunger. My trigger weight now is also about 4lbs.

Overwatch are also highly recommended,  if I build another Glock I'm going to try one .

I'll have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure the Apex kit I was looking at came with all those parts/pieces.  I know some that I've looked at you had to buy them separate.

I'm starting to think this trigger kit idea could become very expensive.  Not so much because the kit itself costs much, but it could change my mind about how I feel toward Glocks in general and I'll end up buying a few.  :yike:

It wont . I never liked Glocks , brother bought a couple , I shot them , still didnt like them . Only reason I have my 19 is because I wanted to build a Gucci Glock . Found a Gen 4  for cheap and am using that frame for the build .

It's not really that I dislike Glocks, and I think they're probably a very good gun, but I've just always like Sigs better.  For me, a 226 or 229 just have a better feel and even though I have them, I've just never been a huge fan of striker fired pistols.  I suppose if I'd have started out with a Glock, that's all I'd have.

One of the things I dislike the most about Glocks, is the trigger pull, so I'm thinking it's going to be worth every penny.  Apex offers a couple different kits, the one I got has more pieces than their basic kit and I thought it was still pretty reasonably priced.

I have just the ghost connector and I think it puts it in the "good enough" range.

Not as good as a Sig trigger but I still prefer the Glocks for the aftermarket.

I'm more into rifle shooting so I can live with a stock Glock trigger. I mostly shoot handguns to be proficient.
