We didn't see many deer this past year, so I took the time to do some wheeling.  :)

Added a smaller rig, primarily to use a a tow behind the motorhome, and have something to hunt out of.  It's an 03' Jeep Sahara, 5 speed, with only 64k on the odometer.

Ridiculous.  http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/trucks/1311_2014_mercedes_benz_g63_amg_6x6_first_drive/

That thing has 5 differentials!  I encourage you to read the article, and try to figure out how to use them!

I am not saying every truck should have a 4' x 8' bed to carry sheetrock, but at $525K you would think a larger bed would be standard.  Finally, the driver's seat (cockpit) is claustrophobic.

Just wondering.. how can a rig with 3 axles have 5 differentials?

Just from a physics standpoint. You can only have one differential per axle. The last time I checked 1X3=3 unless its that new common core math crap.

I think the wording is getting confused in the article due to it being written in England. What they may consider a "double differential" on the rear axles is commonly referred to as a feed though axle design (that is how you achieve dual axle drive in the rear.) The article does mention a lockable transfercase (something Jeep had available 50 years ago).

You can see in the picture the axles are a standard differential design with the addition of a feed though box on the front to feed the rear axle.

I haven't read the article, but I would guess, front, center and rear axles each lock.  Then front to center axle and center to rear.

1,2,3,4, and 5??

An axle can only have one locker, that is in the differential...

What you are explaining is normally done in the transfercase.

My hunting rig is done, won't be hunting this year if I can't get a good truck to replace it. That F-150 is the biggest P O S money pit I've ever owned

98 w/the 4.6. The race is on to see if I get a new one before this one gives up the ghost this summer.

This one has been anything but. Hopefully I'll be replacing it with a Chevy or Dodge diesel in July.
