An axle can only have one locker, that is in the differential... What you are explaining is normally done in the transfercase.
Any suggestions for someone on a budget who wants a mix of good mpg and some off-road ability in a used truck? I was thinking either a 99-00 vintage 4x4 ranger or s10 with a canopy, but I am open to suggestions. Thanks,Rick
I would think that a great budget hunting rig would be a 91-96 Jeep Cherokee. They can be had reasonably cheep, there are MANY budge modifications that can be done, and there are TONS of aftermarket accessories available. With a modest 2" lift (cheep) and some fender trimming you can fit some decent sized tires for hunting and have a very capable rig. I know a couple of guys that regularly get 20mpg in their Cherokees for commuting purposes, With stock OD tires... You can always fold down the rear seat or ad a roof basket if you think you need more room for your stuff.
