I wouldn't need a safety vest if I had a tree stand.  I'm scared of heights and my stand would be like 3 feet off the ground.   :)

Am planning on getting one this year.  Probably should get a harness too, huh...?

Man, when I think of all the rickety things I used to hunt out of when I was a kid....  Not the sturdy, steel stuff you can buy now.  I'm talking about something dad nailed up in a tree 10 years before......Who else used to sit in stuff like that (maybe still do)....? :yike:

Most people are not attached to the tree all the way up, they put on the harness climb up then attach when in treestand, almost all accidents are either getting in or getting out.

I emailed them to ask if I could show that video in my Hunter Education classes.  Thanks for posting it!

I guess maybe I should get a vest, or find the harness that came with my stand.

There seems to be other issues that are quickly mentioned that need to be noted on:

1. Lots of gear (weight load).
2. Moved up a little higher (diameter of tree).
3. Tapped on shoulder (double stand or single next to each other).

I would like to know EXACTLY what was the setup.  He provides almost no details.  One can only learn from complete disclosure.
