You guys looking for whatever loophole you can find to go fishing isn’t going to do anything to end the stay at home order. The whole reason for it in the first place is because people wouldn’t stay the hell home. It’s 2 weeks.

I don't think that's really the issue.

What is the intent of the ruling? I have to think it's to reduce interactions. Yet the state has picked and chosen for us which interactions will be deemed acceptable. Very little common sense is at work when you can still pack hundreds of people into a Costco (how many are "essential"?) and liquor and weed stores are open for business as usual, but a citizen can not legally access a lake in relative isolation.

The list of essential businesses Inslee sent out is 14 pages long. There is the "loophole".

:yeah: My wife is a brand manager for an alchohol distributor. She is now being forced by her company to go out into the stores and stock shelves because they have been deemed an “essential” business by our fearless leader Inslee and all of their merchandisers are dropping like flies. Our health insurance for our whole family is through her job, or else I’d force her to tell them to pound sand. We have a 1 year old at home and I’m not very excited at the thought of her bringing this crap home because of her company’s greed. Yet I can’t go shoot out the Wenas now because I might spread it? I understand everybody just stay home but the exceptions/essential list is ridiculous

I'm sorry for your situation. I feel like I'm in the same boat. I have to go to work in the auto service business. I worry about bringing the stuff home to my wife and my kid. Being your wife's situation involves a grocery store, what's the solution? Close the grocery store? Stop liquor sales?

Costco around me has been limiting the people in the store and telling people to stay 6 feet away. Marijuana is listed as medical and all pharmacies are staying open. Not sure where you are but all the liquor stores around me closed when they went to private sales at the grocery store.

You can still access lakes, just not using wdfw or state boat launches. Make some friends with people who live on a lake and fish all you want.

You don't think Marijuana or it's oils are used are a necessity to some?

I've heard that if you rub a little CBD oil above your upper lip that it kills the deadly virus as you are inhaling it.
The Mary Jane shops being open is more about the money the state makes then keeping you healthy.

I personally know someone who depends on a product they sell so they can sleep.  A purple heart recipient and a hero IMO.
Without it they would be forced to use a prescription drug that is known for dependency and carries terrible side effects.

It's not all about getting high or the tax revenue, for some it's about quality of life.

I'm an avid hunter and fisherman just like most of you here. I have a little boy that I'm sharing my passions with and I had plans to do a lot this year with my kids and my wife. Had an out of state trip planned for antelope, elk hunting, deer hunting, bear hunting, camping, and salmon fishing.

A lot of this is confusing to me and I have questioned several decisions that people in power have made. At the end of the day, people are trying to make proactive/reactive decisions to limit the impact of this virus on the lives of OUR families. Financially it's going to be tough, very tough for many of us. We will get through this and if closing some state land (not saying I agree) helps during this time and limits the amount of people stopping by 7 eleven for gas and snacks on their way to go fishing or hiking then I'm all for it.

Slow this thing down folks so we can give our hospitals, ems, fire, and nursing homes the time they need to recoup the supplies that are coming. Let's not be Italy. For all I care, the state can have my hunting and fishing so that my dad can go hunting with me one more time as opposed to dying from this sh*÷.

Maybe its 2 weeks, maybe it'll be 4 weeks...I'm ok with that. I'm going to do my part climbing the walls too, ever hoping that I'll be climbing mountains in august.

No matter what the president or the governor do, there will be some people unhappy. You can never please all the people all the time. But if we can spread out the infection rate so the hospitals don't get swamped all at once we will save lives. We are all in this together and a certain percentage of us will eventually get this virus. It is comforting to know that if we can spread out the spike in infections that a greater number of us who do get the sickest will have a better chance of surviving if the hospitals aren't as packed.

At the same time, we do need to keep essential services available to the public so that the prevention is not worse than the virus itself. Eventually we also have to get this country moving again too, so there is a lot of unknowns and that weighs heavily on all of us. But we will get through this and I would think we will be stronger and better prepared for the future after we get through this.  :twocents:

Yes, screw liquor sales. I don’t think anybody is dying if the stores run low on beer and wine for a few weeks. The bottom line is they know they’ll sell a crap ton while everybody is home on quarantine so they’re willing to risk the health and safety of their employees and their families to keep moving that merch, because they’re trying to compensate for all of the bars and restaurants that aren’t selling any right now. Obviously some businesses and jobs ARE essential to keeping people safe, healthy and fed but hers is not one of them. But the state wants that liquor tax revenue so she’s expendable

I support ALL of the closures for all of the above reasons.

I just question how serious the state really is when they allow the kind of massive loopholes as Mtnwalker is describing.

Most booze sales is at the grocery store, so I'm not sure that banning the sale of booze is going to do much other than create a huge problem with enforcement as well as creative work-arounds while not limiting any trips to the store.

I would think we want people who take a smoke or drink to calm down to not be forced to go cold turkey right now.  Doesn't seem to make anything better.

I understand 100% what you all are saying, but  with 1,000's of buisneses still open not much is going to change imop. funny how many have said ''loophole'' when talking about people getting there separation outdoors but the real loophole going on is all the buisneses that are trying to stay open under some kind of loophole, and in doing so putting way more at risk.

The big problem is that companies are rightly trying to avoid laying off 100% of their staff.  They don't want to lose their business or hurt their employees which is completely understandable.  For many of these businesses, they can't afford to pay a month of rent with $0 revenue.

Congress really should just send the whammy and pay 100% unemployment starting today until some point in the future coupled with business relief so they don't go under when revenue drops to 0.  Then, everyone can go home if they are not really needed right now.

I agree with this and it is why I believe that personal accountability is even more important. The more people can look beyond their own personal "needs" and towards the health and well-being of others, the better  :twocents:

True, but I think many business owners are looking out at their long term employees and know they live paycheck to paycheck and don't want to send them out in the cold right now.  I think once the unemployment benefits get boosted there will be a rush to get people home.
