I did a Win 10 install a few years back and it was terrible.  Went back to 7, then installed Apache (Linux based).  Works much better except if I have to do anything that was originally MS.  Lots of weird little format issues going from MS to Linux and then back to MS.

Our Dell Techs in the Boeing Laptop Center, do not even bother diagnosing passed, "did this happen on a wired network, and could a bad Dock connection cause this? No, re-image!"

My Win10 Installs at home run fantastic! Have not had any problems.
I will say, if you have an old PC or laptop that was upgraded to Win7 or Win8, then to Win10. It might be better to buy a new preloaded Win10 PC or laptop.

One was a 7 to 10.  Other was factory 10.  Both borked themselves on failed, forced, auto updates.  Now they are both Win10 1909, with a backup image stored on a NAS.  Both were not mine, which was the real fun of it.

The main thing that drove me crazy was the touch didn't work with 10.  Then it was taking too long to save files.  Wouldn't let me paste anything that had been copied.  The computer is from 2010, so is kind of old.

You've probably heard of it.  But for reference, this is invaluable.

A friend called me to checkout his Win 10 install problems. It blue green screened  after boot. I asked him "you did a backup first like I told you right?" He says "yes, it's on my C: drive  :bash:

I backup constantly to a USB drive, have a whole NAS drive and an old Windows Media Server sitting in storage. Haven't used them since we moved.

I have 2 Macs and 2 PCs. So far no cult members have shown up to inspect my machines.

Used three Windows systems when I worked at Boeing, retired before the Windows 10 was mandatory. One of our tech guys just shook his head and  said The Wizards of Bill did it again. Yes I still use DOS commands when I can.

Wife is off, but I've been working a bit more. We have made two trips to the dump(before it closed), helped wife paint the house, reloading, getting pens ready for 4-H lambs, brushing the horse...we have actually kept pretty busy. The property has surly taken up a lot of time, and looks great!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
