CO Deer
« on: April 02, 2020, 12:13:04 PM »
I decided to apply for CO deer with my 3 points. I'll be 70 yrs in July so I don't have the time to wait much longer to draw. I received some good info from a CO resident and a friend that hunts CO often but I'd like to run this by some of you that hunt CO.

Here are some of the areas I'm thinking about and before I get flamed for asking so late you don'y need to tell me S if you don't want to. I can give you WY antelope info in exchange

Area 161 3rd season, Area 6 2nd season, area 52 3rd season, area 54 2nd season and area 61/84 3rd season. If any of you have hunted these areas and want to share some info it will be appreciated.

Thank You

I haven’t hunted any of those areas but hopefully someone will have some insight for you.  Let me know if you want me to look up your draw odds on those tags if you don’t have that info. Good luck to you this year

Thanks I have the draw info. I only have 66% chance to draw area 69 rd season the others are dame near 100 %

The CO starts are a bit hard to figure out at first. I hunted area 551 about 4 years ago and missed one year of buying points. I hope to draw this year and maybe WY antelope

I’d be wary of 6 and 161, don’t let the stats fool you, an easy draw with good harvest rates and very low tag numbers says something is up to me. If I had to guess I’d say most of those bucks are being killed on private in that neck of the woods. Unless your friend has some local knowledge then that may be a different story. Just my  :twocents:

yes. You'll see card hits before results so keep an eye on your bank account or just wait for the annoyed phone call from your wife  :chuckle:

Word on the street is cards are getting hit for bear. I believe last year it went bear, antelope, deer, then elk.
