Revolver Holster recommendation
« on: April 13, 2020, 08:48:09 PM »
I alternate between carrying a Ruger Blackhawk (new model) with a 5.5" barrel as a sidearm and a Ruger Wrangler 4.62" as a grouse gun. Does anyone have a good holster recommendation that could accommodate both revolvers.

Its just a pain to switch it out each time and I'd prefer to have one holster that could reasonably carry either one. Thanks

frame wise...these are pretty different pistols.....right??  I can't imagine finding a holster that would adequately work for both.  Best case scenario would be to buy an uncle mikes that fits the blackhawk and then let the wrangle fit super loose.   :dunno: :dunno:

What is hard about switching out holsters?  buy two leather holsters and use the same belt?

Just get a proper holster for each gun.  If you can afford two guns, you can afford two holsters.   :twocents:

I wear it on a stone glacier pack with double waist straps on the belt, its more of an annoyance than anything else. Just take a few minutes to disassemble and put a different holster on. I like to have my day bag ready to go without having to throw things in or swap stuff around too much. Just trying to be efficient really.

Its not an issue of price...just an issue of if it was possible or if someone had a suggestion

I have a Hunter leather holster that came with my 5.5" Bisley Blackhawk that I will give you. PM me if you want it.

It was not ideal for the Blackhawk.  Too loose.  It would be even more loose on the Wrangler, I'd guess.

I went with an El Paso Saddlery for the Blackhawk and a Ruger shop specific holster for my Single Six.

If it doesn't interfere with your pack, how about a chest rig?  Get two 3 slot holsters and they swap out really easily.
