Testing is optional, but you can drop off or mail samples in and get your deer or elk tested for free.  Watch a few YouTubes to figure out how to get the gland out from under the chin.  Most regional offices are open during business hours and have drop boxes after hours.

Leave all the bones as close to the kill site as possible.

Yeah that’s too bad. Gone are the days of coming back from Montana with skinned out deer stacked like cordwood in the back.

 its the whole carcass, whole head, brain, or spinal column from any deer, elk, or moose harvested within a CWD Management Zone may not be removed from that Management Zone unless the animal has tested negative for CWD

Due to the covid thing, they are sending tags, they are waiting till next year to have hunters print them.
