Air Fryer - do you have one?
« on: August 11, 2020, 02:09:39 PM »
educate me on air fryers,  everyone has one it seems, but us.

I just can't wrap my head around why we need one?
You don't put oil in it, so it just blows around hot air right?

My oven does that on convection setting
So does my toaster oven,  they both have fans and blow around hot air, and it's called convection cooking.

what the heck is air frying if not convection cooking   :dunno:

soooo, why do I need an air fryer???

I don't have a specific air fryer but I did get a toaster oven that has built in air fryer and its pretty awesome. Easy way to make crisp potatoes, veggies and all that without all the oil and mess of actually frying.

Not much difference except the air fryer has a basket

While a full-size convection oven and an air fryer both use a fan to move hot air around, an air fryer circulates the air more rapidly inside a small chamber, speeding up the cooking process. Air fryers also employ a basket to more evenly circulate hot air around the bottom of your food

:yeah: small differences from convection but mainly air flow and directional concentration of heat

We have one, heck we have everything that can cook something (my wife has a sickness), we have found somethings that come out better in the air fryer and or can make slightly different, with the air fryer things like fries and tots we can stop the thing near the end and take out the basket and sprinkle on seasonings etc, give it a good shake/toss and back in for the re meander (suppose i could use a big basket in the oven on convection but i don't)

The kids like the air fryer for ease of use for them  :twocents:
