CCI Shotshells for grouse?

I tried to get one with a 10 mm, one night.  Missed at 6 feet.  We both sat there stunned for a moment.

10 mm? The shock wave should have knocked it out.

I think that, and the close, earth-shattering impact, is why it was stunned.
