What other outdoor recreation is closed?  Ski hills are, not sure what else.

All DNR lands are shut down.  So all state forests are not able to be hiked into and all beaches are closed.

Golfing is closed (governor refers to it as outdoor recreation.  i guess it is but I never think of it as outdoor recreation)

Bear hunting is closed.

The beaches aren't closed, at least not in Grays Harbor county. You can't drive your vehicle onto the beach like normal but everyone is parking and walking onto the beach. I only know that because we did it ourselves.

I thought beaches were controlled by DNR and were therefore closed.   :dunno:

State owns beaches, counties own beaches, feds own beaches, cities own beaches, corporations own beaches, private citizens own beaches, lots of entities own and control beach access.

The ocean beaches are controlled by State Parks.

I think it's not quite accurate to say recreation is closed and we are now opening it to whatever degree we hear about tonight.  Outside of hunting and fishing, it seems like 90% of outdoor recreation is and has been open.

That's because hunting and fishing are the only activities they already have a mechanism set to fine the crap out of us....   :bash:

I stand corrected.  I guess just the forests are closed and fishing and hunting is shut down.

I guess I was assuming the beaches were closed.  If beaches are open, why shouldn't someone be able to fish for surf perch? That's ridiculous.

The beaches might be officially closed, I'm not sure. The access points were blocked so you couldn't drive out on the beach. Many access points there was nowhere left to park. I pulled into one beach entrance and with all the cars parked there couldn't park and couldn't turn around so I had to back all the way out into the highway to get out of there. Beaches were full of people.

That's what we're trying to figure out.  If boating is open, fishing should be open.  If fishing should be closed, boating should be closed.  Same story on the beach.
