So looks like my daughter and I will share the Aladdin unit with 3 other bear hunters if the "10% local hunter rule" is close to accurate?  Seems like there is plenty of room for all of us.  If I were on the west side I would be using good common sense and hunting anyway.  I am glad it opened, because I was going to hunt anyway and fight them in court for breach of contract and improper notification of closures.
i seriously doubt people will follow the order to hunt locally. To many selfish people out there.

I doubt that would stop a single person

I doubt that I am completely informed but it looks the only things that are specific are the saltwater closures and no overnight camping on public designated areas or on state land. The rest seems full of words like recommendations, guidelines, may and should. Even the term "local hunting" is subjective. Does that mean, no nonresidents, or 40 mile radius, or 200 mile radius :dunno:

:yeah: You never know, it certainly can't hurt to ask.

do you get fuel when you're headed up horn hunting?  Is it selfish of you to hunt antlers when other people can't?

In all honesty if I'm headed to Goldendale I'm less of an impact by staying 2+days then driving back and forth and using more fuel

Amazing how a good thing for hunters, fishers and our states economy has turned so negative.   There are no local mandates.....it was a recommendation.  They say to travel safe, take your food gas etc.  Why are some people so against their fellow sportsmen getting outside and enjoying the land and sport.

Teanawayslayer.   You are blind and or ignorant to think travel has not been happening all around you for the past month.  You live by i90 and blewit pass which are two of the busiest East side roads.  I think this is more a matter of jealousy that realistic fear from people hunting and fishing.

Can you articulate why you care other than saying people are selfish?   Serious question!!  Travel over the passes is happening and the spread is still declining.  Please tell me something I don’t know or am not seeing.  Bring in fact and science and not just your bias and emotions.  I’m all ears.

If I own a convenience store do you think I want people to NOT come to my store and spend money?

Our day of freedom in Cinco de Mayo?

What could go wrong?
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Excited to get to do some fishing.

I am however very disappointed in not getting to go surf perch fishing.  From what I read it sounds like its the local health departments stopping the coastal fishing.  I sure hope they don't expect those they are turning away to turn around and give them the $$ to make up for their loss in tourism/fishing money.

The health departments don't want anyone then don't expect to be bailed out when your short on funds--just my  :twocents:

A great example of the "me me me" attitude all over a little fishing. Rumor has it that that closure will last an extra week or 2.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
