Fishing and Hunting to re-open on May 5th

Excited to get to do some fishing.

I am however very disappointed in not getting to go surf perch fishing.  From what I read it sounds like its the local health departments stopping the coastal fishing.  I sure hope they don't expect those they are turning away to turn around and give them the $$ to make up for their loss in tourism/fishing money. 

The health departments don't want anyone then don't expect to be bailed out when your short on funds--just my

Yes, people want to get out and have some fun, so what? Barricade yourself indoors for eternity if you choose, but others want to get back out again.

I don't see it as a " me me me" attitude.  There is little logic in allowing the beaches to be open but not allow people to fish.  That's not 'me me me'.  It's simply questioning why they choose to prohibit activities that would have zero chance of spreading a virus.  

But, that is what is great in this world...........lots of different opinions.

They regulate fishing/clamming because there is already a mechanism in place to fine us. It also shows the low regard that the state has for a user group that actually pays a lot of it's own way for what it gets.

Stay indoors for the rest of your life if your so scared, this covid thing is never going to go away, its here to stay. You shouldnt even be going to work if your so scared about it. D@mn right me,me,me. Its time to get back to living.

Wow, I took a bunch of SH / bad press on a fly fishing site when I said I wanted to fish in the Okanogon next week. I figured I could combined it with a few days of turkey hunting and make a week long trip. I'm retired now so I have the time.
I was told by most on that site that I should just fish local because I couldn't camp legally any where up there.
Well for starters I don't want to fish for 8 inch fish with 50 of my new found friends at a local lake. I fish the selective fisheries lakes out of my float tube and sleep in the back of my rig. Except for a few places I fish I see very few people and we all  camp way more that 6 feet apart at these lakes. WTF.

Am I just wrong and selfish to go so far to hunt and fish? I've been fishing those lakes for at least 25 years. Where the F can I kill a turkey around Bothell or catch 16 in plus rainbows?
By not opening over night dispersed camping at the same time WTF should any of us hunt and fish after the 5th ?
I still plan to go and camp in East bum F off some out of the way road with a cocked and locked 1911 by my side.

Tell me if I'm a selfish old B and should just stay home and do yard work 

Sorry for this rant but I'm tired of all this SH

I don't recommend Chopaka Lake, one of the most difficult to get to and most crowded lakes I have ever seen.  Go and enjoy where you can find room.  I plan on doing the same.  I'd say the selfish are those trying to save/scare themselves a fishing spot.

I've been working in a retail environment surrounded by people every day since this crap show started, but thanks. Please know what you're talking about before spouting off.

All I'm saying is I find it a little hard to comprehend why someone would penalize an entire community by boycotting them simply because our government made a rule saying we can't fish there. For Pete's sake...wait a couple more weeks and go fishing. It's not gonna kill anyone to wait a couple weeks. Why penalize a bunch of folks in the community who depend on fishing for income?

Both Inslee and WDFW stressed that recreating involving overnight stays is not allowed and they will be monitoring compliance when deciding when to further ease restrictions or worst case close hunting and fishing again.

Right or wrong, those are the rules and it would be rather unpleasant if the rest of the activities still closed were kept closed longer because of failure to follow the rules.

We don't have to like it, but if we follow the rules we will all be happier in the shortest amount of time possible.

They obviously are not paying attention to camping in national forrests then, we camped a couple weeks ago and it was a zoo, people camping and riding all over the place.
