Actually you can do this. You have to receive notifications. For some reason the email system is broken but it will give you a private message every time someone replies to an ad you subscribe to. I have followed up with the people that make the software but they are very difficult to work with. You have to be a cop and prove that their stuff doesn't work before they even give you the time of day. So much for paid products.

Ok I fixed the email notifications. If you elect to receive notifications then you can get an email every time someone replies to a particular ad. I believe this also works for ad categories as well.

Here's another tip - if you want to know how far away someone is then either fill in the zip code info or use the advanced search mode to find the ads which are closest to you http://hunting-washington.com/classifieds/search.php

The whole distance thing is nice. But how about a spot for the actual location of the item. Right next to the place where it says "Price"

Overall, it is a nice feature.
Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

Because it seems pointless. The seller has control over this. The products a user sells is not attached to their profile. It is attached to the information they fill in when uploading an ad.

If I sell shoes there I can fill in any zip code I want for that product.

If I sell a shirt then I can fill in a different zip code for that product.

At any rate - this is as good as it is going to get. There will be no new features. They either do not exist in the product\system or there is nobody willing to create them.

Ok - It was raised to me that the paypal option is a bad idea on the guns because someone will inadvertently buy or sell a gun and get their account closed.  Therefore I removed that option.

However in order to do that I had to edit a number of ads in these categories. If they are incorrect my apologies (although they seem to be ok at a cursory glance).

Also the change means that if you want to sell guns or ammo there is a different template for that as opposed to selling other items (because I removed the paypal feature). You'll notice this when uploading something new in the classifieds.

******For sale (No guns no ammo)
******For sale guns and ammo

I believe this change makes sense.

Thanks

Ray, I have a little feedback...

Positives: I like the fact that the new classifieds are much more organized than the old system.

Negatives: Whenever I click on an image to "supersize" it, the image pops up but is still the same old size as before. Not any larger. When I uploaded the images in my ad, they were 640x480, but when I supersize them, they don't get any larger than the thumbnail size. This may just be an issue that I am experiencing, I am not sure... Just for your info, I am using Firefox 3.0.8 on a Mac running OSX 10.4.11.

Thanks again for the new classifieds section.

The classifieds doesn't make your images larger. Otherwise to look at the full size image you click on the supersize link. NOT the image itself. I verfied one of your images is full size. I suspect you clicked on the image and not the supersize link because that is what you said you did. Verified on my mac and my windows pc as well as with firefox, safari and internet explorer.

Ray, you are correct... i now feel like an idiot.  :chuckle: I was clicking on the image, assuming that would supersize it. but you are correct, if I click on the actual word "supersize" under the image, then it does show it larger. thanks for clarifying that.

Don't feel like an idiot. It is misleading and that was what I did the first time as well.

On the home page there is a box on the right side of the screen that says quick links (above the random photo)- just click on classifieds
This closet is taken- go find your own
