I think most are just staying in the general Lewistown area, for accomodations. I know we hunt over an hour in a couple different directions from there, one of our spots is actually north of Roy also -but it is a larger place
. throw up a report if you can and/ or pics.

I just moved here (western WA) 6 months ago from Montana. Bitterroot Valley. Unbelievable hunting over there. Unfortunately I was only there for one hunting season, but I made the most out of it with a nice elk, whitetail and missed a Cinnamon colored bear.
Have fun over there and good luck!

Well, hunting season offically starts for me on Sunday. We are off tomorrow after work for Spokane, then on to the Ruby River in SW MT on Sat. It does look good for weather huntnphool, a couple of inches of snow each day is great where we are at, you run across some fresh tracks and get on them. We hunt up pretty high, camp is at 7200' and the top of the ridge is 10K+. Those first couple days are usually pretty painful until your lungs get used to oxygen starvation. I packed two cameras and aim to bring some stories and photos so I won't get banned from here.
Good luck to all going over, let's make those back here proud.

I had to kinda laugh at Huntnphool post about a cold front coming in and it's gonna be in the 20's. I remember Wea300mag & I were down by Alder Mt and it went from about 50 degrees to minus 30 degrees in about 8 or 10 hrs. A little rough when staying in a wall tent.

I just packed my duffle, it has to weigh at least 100lbs, wool, wool and more wool..... I'm going to look like the kid on "A Christmas Story" who couldn't even walk.... But I'll be warm...
