Last weekend outside of pomeroy we probably had 200 come into camp. Lots with big size to them. Forgot to take pics.
We were about 4000-4500' or so. Finding them all over, but most in sunny locstions with short vegetation around them.

Pics or it didn't happen

Ill try and find pics.
Should probably note, some of the camp was there 13 days, the rest of us were there for the weekend before and for memorial day. 25+ people in camp.

Did see some mushroom hunters with full grocery sacks coming out of some areas while out riding the quads.

The wife had pics from the day she went out hunting with us, this wasnt the entirety of the weekend, just one day, or maybe a day and a couple hours from the day before that a few people went out.
We probably pulled 10-12 as big or bigger then the one in my wifes hand.
Was a good trip!

Nice hauls everyone! And thanks Bango that pic is great and I'll have to couple it with that nice new stock pic. And Nock Nock, "that's not a moon, its a space station"--seriously saw the pic and it instantly jumped out at me. Must have been an exciting find.

I had a great season picking morels, probably done for the year. Ended up with around 35 lbs this year!

I'm not usually a trophy hunter, but it's sure fun to find a big one! This is the largest I've found to date  8) My little brother found his first ones also, ending a 2 year losing streak.

I think we got another week or so of the season may be much longer in other parts. I might head up Sunday. Last weekend was at about 4700 feet and they were more sparse and some very old and not worth keeping. Let at least 50 stand.

Just hitting fire shroom season where I'm at. Too bad the wholesalers at only paying $5 a pound right now or I'd be picking my butt off. Picked 18 pounds yesterday afternoon.

I'm not real big on eating mushrooms but have been told that the light colored ones are "better"?
