Montana deer
« on: June 11, 2020, 03:05:23 PM »
I will be taking 2 of my sons deer hunting in Montana this November. To say we are excited is an understatement! I’ve been to Montana once before and shot a decent buck but that is my only out of state experience. This will be their first hunt and what I’m looking for is tips on do’s and don’t s. I’m a seasoned hunter and I just want to make the experience for them a memorable one! I have 3 areas already picked to head to so not looking for areas to hunt. Unless of course you want throw ideas my way😛

Pointers are tough with not knowing where you're going.  If youre wanting informational input, let's us know what type of hunting your doing. Are you hunting NF, BLM, a BM, the Breaks, the CMR, private, open country, sage, etc?? What time frame are you going, early to miss the weather or late to get the weather??

Montana is so much fun! I'll be taking my daughter with me this year as well. How old are your boys?
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

12 and 14. They like to get after it when hiking! They did the pure elevation course twice this last year at Stevens so as far as conditioning goes they are pretty well off for their age. I know I had a blast when I went back in 2013. Tons of deer!
