I'm in for Archery deer again. Don't expect to get drawn unfortunately.

I drew a 241-245 tag in 2016 and a 221-223 tag in 2017...I’ll most likely be purchasing a tag if I want to hunt NV again.

I'm in. Drew a rifle deer tag my first year applying. There is always a chance.

I'm in for Sheep, Mule Deer, Elk and Loper. Slim odds on all with only a few points.

What's the upfront cost to apply?

I didn't even look at odds for elk and lope, just put in for points. But actually did some research for dear. There were 20 tags last year (muzzle loader/ALW) that had 33% or better chance for drawing and 8 tags with 50% or better..... didn't look at archery. Are the deer odds worse than the appear or are some folks going for some really good tags here?

So yup, I'm in for deer and points for elk and lope this year. First year in the draw.

Good to know we have some folk that try for the Silver State. Seen past threads but hadn't noticed any for this year. I was trying to do spring Turkey down there which was (personally) kaboshed due to COVID. Figures since I had the license this year and know that I'm going to get a license next year for Nevada Spring Turkey I should get my name in the hat for some big game.

If drawn, I'll be scouting for turkey on the way out....

Good luck everyone.

Could be wrong but you need a non-resident license to apply I believe which was $156, then it's $10/app + misc wildlife fees (predator management fee etc.) You can opt to buy the tag once selected and not up front.

License is $156 then its $10 an app but there are "fees" so it ends up being $14 for deer and antelope and $19 for elk.

Just like most states, if you have a pile of points and zero odds of drawing it's by ones own choosing. Theres a good number of deer units that can be had with very few points. Elk is just tough as there is a ton demand for a limited number of tags. The wait will be rewarded though when you draw. There are gggggiant bulls in NV.

Never thought much about Nevada even though I’d always heard of the great hunting. The poor draw odds steered me away I guess. One year my in-laws and I were driving home from Phoenix and decided to drive up through Eastern Nevada on highway 93. That was all it took to get me to start applying. The drive up through Ely was awesome, but the highlight of the trip was going by the Ruby Mountains- stunning beauty. I always thought of NV as one big desert, but it’s so much more than that. I’m still waiting to draw- but I know it will be worth it when I do.

Yes, I had a similar moment.  I bought a car in Las Vegas, flew down and drove the car back to WA.  That drive up through the middle of Nevada was awesome.  I finally got to hunt there last fall, and it did not disappoint.  Can't wait to go back.

I can’t wait to hunt there as well, I think there is talk about limiting the choices from 5 to 3 which should help with the draw odds, I hope that goes through.
