Ultimate efficient multitool
« on: April 10, 2020, 11:43:54 AM »
Who here uses a multi tool like a leatherman  daily or often.      What’s the best, best bang for buck, etc.  what’s your favorite?

Thanks

I've had gerber, leatherman, swiss knife, and a couple generics, by far I liked gerber the best.

I EDC a Leatherman FUSE, just enough tools for my needs without having to many or to few..
I also have a giant Leatherman whatever in my truck door and a Leatherman skeletool that i use when out fishing

I picked up a Leatherman Wave a few years back and I am a big fan. Biggest benefit over old school leathermans is you can open the knife, file, saw, and serated blade without having to open the pliers first. The way its set up you can actually open the knife one handed. For me its the right size to have in my pocket at all times. Helped me out of a LOT of jams.

I broke my knife blade being an idiot a while ago and was able to get and install a replacement with ease. Just takes a tamper resistant Torx bit.

I picked mine up as a TSA confiscation so got it for 30 bucks brand new. I have seen them on offerup etc for a good price also.

Can't speak to other multitools never had one.

I love my Gerber skelatool Thats always in my pocket.  I have a bigger Suspension but thats a bit to chunky for the pocket that lives in my truck and another in my day bag.

I have 3 Leathermans. All for a different purpose. Squirt for backpacking, the skeletool  for EDC and the mut with some bits in my truck.

I have Leatherman Waves on all my packs and vehicles and a SOG B61 EOD with me because old habits are hard to break.

I like the Wave for bigger tools and the Gerber Dime for small tools although I wish they would charge a few bucks more for the Dime and make it so I don't break it every 6 months and have to send it back for a new one under warranty.

I bought a leatrherman about 5 years ago because everyone said it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.I do a lot of tinkering and i mean a lot and i have yet to use it at all.It is the sharpest knife by far that i have but use not so much.  :twocents:

I've had a Leatherman Charge XTI for over a decade and it goes everywhere with me as an edc. I keep it in the holster with the interchangeable bits when hunting. If they could have worked a pair of scissors into the multibit model it would have been the cherry on top.

Leatherman side kick is what I have been carrying for 6-8 years enough tools for me and not to big to carry clipped In my pocket, you can open the blade one handed without opening pliers as well.

RockChuck:Mine is also the side kick,Do you carry yours with the little brown sheath it came with or did you get something else?Reason i ask is the sheath it came with doesn't work for me,I don't like stuff like that swinging around off my belt and would probably carry and use a lot more if i had a sheath like a regular knife that i can put on my belt instead of in a loop on my pants. thanks
