I'm looking for a tarp for my summer hiking trips and was wondering how this tarp performs. It didn't have so terrible of a price tag like some other tarps, but I do want something fairly quality. thanks

Can't speak to the Kelty tarp.  But really like the Aqua Quest guide tarp that I got off Amazon last year.   Nice and light and good waterpoofness.  Used it in rain and snow.  Not too expensive as some of the "ultralight" brands.  Very good price point for the quality.

Use two different Noah tarp sizes for my alaska camps and they work well. They’ve held up in hurricane type weather too.

I haven't used that specific tarp, but they look well designed and look like they would do the trick.  I'd give them a try!  I think most other brands of tarps seem a bit overpriced for what they are.  Depending on the size you want, they look to be about a 1/3rd of some of those offered by the high-tech outfits.

I have an old Sil-Tarp from Integral Designs (now defunct), and it's been my only shelter besides a bivy sack on some trips, and it's a nice addition to have an awning for rain or sun on other pack trips.

I tied some large loops of elastic cord on all the tie-outs to give it a little more stretch and it's nice to hook on to branches in a quick pitch situation.

The Noah is tough and reliable.  I had one.  I finially upgraded to lighter and more spendy.  I ain't no spring chicken anymore so I'm always after the really lightweight stuff but only when I can afford it.

I've used the Noah's Tarp 9x9 a ton, awesome product at that price.  I've been through a couple of them now as campfire embers will burn 'em up.  Mine weighs 22 oz with very generous guyout lines and 4 stakes.  I personally dislike using treking poles and I would set it up "tip to tip" rather than attempt to make it square over a ridge line.
