So I swear by the cva. Ive killed 2 bulls with my cva optima paired with a knight bloodline bullet. And my girlfriend has killed one bull woth the cva wolf paired with a hornady sst. And a buddy of mine just bought the accura. I realy like the optima. Only issue ive had woth it is not getting the breach plug tight enough for the hammer to lock back ( weird stuff just make sure she will cock every time you put it together). Im shooting the 209 primers with 100g and 150g of 777 pellets. The best part is that cva knows that the only sagty you need is the hammer being decocked. I dont like the traditions for that reason and i dont like the knights for that reason. The coating on the stainless modles is nice but they will rust up if you dont keep them oiled. Thanks for the input, went with the 700 uml ordered through a local small dealer and should be here next week.  Customs do sure look nice though!  Been a modern hunter for 20 years so will be a nice little change to chase muleys with.

Also any recommendations for an aftermarket peep or a ghost ring would be awesome, trying to maximize my effective range as much as possible to a ethical point on my capabilities with the rifle.  Eyes are good so should have no problem visually.

Williams fp peep if they make one for 700 uml.  A Lyman globe sight up front is nice for shooting longer distances. Not sure what parts are required to make that work.

REM UML. I have Lee Shaver inserts in my globe. We found a rail for the FP peep that could work but had to cut to length, round out the bottom and re-drill one hole to fit the receiver. NECG sells a rear peep that clamps directly to a readily available rem 700 weaver style rear scope base.  The Williams WGRS rear peep will screw directly to the receiver and comes factory installed on the laminate version. Sometimes a different ramp is needed to match the height of the peep. We use Blackhorn209 but with less powder than normal FFG.

They are now making drop on long range Williams sights with globes for the remingtons.

I'm a bit of a fathead so on the Remington I chose to elevate the rear peep to acquire a quicker and more comfortable cheek weld.

Anyone used the traditions pursuit g4? I’m really interested in it due to price range being much more reasonable than the rem uml.

find a clean burning load and dont get caught up with massive powder charges . I shoot barnes ez and two pellets outta my knight ultralight light and its money out past 100 yards . if your shooting farther a williams upgrade is a must.

I just ordered the Remington 700 from Matt. Apparently you can shoot 200 grains of powder all day long out of those babies. From what I hear they burn almost all the powder using magnum rifle primers. Can’t believe I steered away from knight. Hopefully they are as good as people say!

Cva wolf northwest. .50 cal. Great little gun. Inexpensive and easy to maintain. Shot a deer at 60yds in a full run last year. Clean kill. I bought ghostring illuminated sights from muzzleloader.com and they were great.
