Why throw it back?

To make a long story short, the big lings are responsible for reproduction, females can't reproduce until their about 30", males 24"  that takes approx 4-5 years.  Large females produce hundreds of thousands of eggs.  It's better for our future fishing to toss back the very large lings.  Thats why.

I filleted a 46" for someone once, it had so many worms I refused a piece for my troubles.

I released a 38" on Saturday in the islands.

That is a crazy dark blue!  The first one I ever got, I speared and found this crazy blue thing when I cleaned it.
